About the Stori Wyllt project

Am Stori Wyllt
Grassland ID project in the summer of 2025, funded by Dŵr Cymru

Dod â natur yn fyw. ID bywyd gwyllt, creu cynefinoedd a gweithdai adrodd straeon i greu Stori Wyllt. Bring nature to life. Wildlife ID, habitat creation & storytelling workshops to create a Wild Story.

Mae Stori Wyllt yn brosiect peilot ar gyfer ysgolion cynradd yng Cheredigion sy’n rhedeg o fis Mawrth i fis Mehefin 2026, gyda’r nod o ymgorffori adferiad natur ym mywyd yr ysgol, wedi‘i drefnu gan Bartneriaeth Natur Ceredigion. Stori Wyllt is a pilot project for primary schools in Ceredigion running from March to June 2026, aiming to embed nature recovery into school life, organised by Ceredigion Nature Partnership.

The project is organised by Jake Rayson, Biodiversity Assistant at Ceredigion Nature Partnership. The idea came about from a Grassland ID workshop in the summer of 2025 (the workshops were funded by Dŵr Cymru). WWBIC Ecologist Carys May and teacher Carys Griffiths-Jones at Ysgol Gynradd Aberaeron had organised sketching as one of the activities. One of the students started to colour in the pencil drawing with plant material.

Another student created a montage of flowers, which were pressed and then laminated, and then they added sketches and names.

Jake is studying a masters in Sustainable Planning & Environmental Policy at Cardiff University, and Stori Wyllt was further developed in a joint project with fellow students Shaheera Sami, Erin Phillips and Abdi Said.

There are four primary schools involved across Ceredigion (Ysgol Gynradd Aberteifi, Ysgol Llanarth, Ysgol Gynradd Aberaeron and Ysgol Llanilar), four creatives (Pip Lewis, Molly Gilbert, Rebecca Wyn Kelly and Marian Haf) and four naturalists (Yusef Samari, Jo Dainty, Carys May and Sheena Duller), with a Celebration Event at Stiwdio 3 café & gallery week beginning 29th June.
